My friend Stacy and I wanted to go hike together as families so we put it on the calendar. We had been looking forward to it and the day finally arrived. We headed up to Payson and did the Horton Spring's hike. It ended up being a very memorable hike.
Maeley enjoyed taking charge of Fluffy.
Chase and Aleena are only a few weeks apart and they get along really well.
It was so fun to hike together as families and watch our kids get along and have a good time.
Chase slipped into the cold water right before this picture.
Stacy and I have been friends since we were toddlers.
Zoe and Avalee became great friends. Watching was like watching Stacy and I at that age. So fun!
This hike is about 3.5 miles in and 3.5 back. All these pictures seem so deceiving because shortly after we started heading back to the cars it started to sprinkle. We had been watching the weather and it wasn't showing rain until later in the evening. Well it was WRONG! Eventually it started to pour and even hailed! Derek was up ahead with Chase, Maeley and Aleena. Stacy, Steve, Avalee, Zoe, Fluffy and I were a little behind them. I wish I took pictures. The trail became a stream and we were jogging to get back to the car. Zoe ended up slipping in the mud so then we tried to just speed walk. We were completely soaked!

Maeley was meeting up with a friend in Payson to go to a concert that night. We were planning on getting something to eat in Payson and then meeting up with her friend. Power was out in Payson and after driving around we finally found a gas station that had power and got snacks for the kids and Derek. Maeley was lucky that she had a change of clothes in the car. The rest of us stayed in our wet clothes until we got home. I was freezing!
This is a hike we will never forget!
