Easter 2014- part 1

I guess I should back track and post about our Easter this year. Easter is really celebrated both Saturday and Sunday. Here is what we did Saturday.

Before heading to my parents for breakfast and an Easter egg hunt we colored eggs. The kids always have so much fun doing this!

Silly kids went around dancing like this. It was pretty funny!

At my parents house the kids getting ready to find the eggs.

I love my parents backyard! Look at all the greenery!

That's Curtis' son Camdyn who is 2.

There was far too many eggs for the amount of kids there. Some eggs had change and a couple had $1 bills. The jackpot had a note for a $10 Coldstone giftcard. Of course after the kids were done looking there were still some eggs were still missing, including the giftcard. After the kids were searching awhile Laurel said anyone who finds it gets it. It must have been my lucky day because I found it!

Later in the afternoon our ward did an Easter egg hunt at the park. Sadly we didn't take any pictures this year.

2 Easter eggs hunts down 2 more to go.

Random

I realize I have left this blog silent for far too long. It's not like there isn't anything to report. It's just that we have been busy. I'm more busy now and when I do have some free time blogging isn't a high priority. Although really it should be. I love documenting our lives here. The past month we have been working on a big project, which of course has snowballed into others. I can't wait to show you our project. I think it's pretty incredible! Derek did an amazing job! It's so close to being done.

Chase was thrilled to finally earn some awards. Here he is with his teacher Mrs. Paceley.

He lost another tooth.

Zoe is as cute and silly as ever.

Hard to believe school is almost out. Zoe and I have a day date planned. Our last day just her and I before the big kids get out of school. Then in the fall she starts all day kindergarten. It's so weird thinking in a few short months I will have all my kids in school. Where did the time go? Wasn't I just in the hospital holding her for the first time thinking I have 3 years of all 3 kids home all day with me? Those years flew by and I am forever grateful I had 3 years with all of them together at my side. I love my kids! I love my husband and I love my family!

Zoe's beard party!

Yes that does sound quite ridiculous. Our sweet 5 year old girl planned out a beard party. Let's back track and explain how this came to be. Her infatuation for beards began when Derek's sister Kim started dating her boyfriend. Zoe calls him Beardie. Then on top of that the kids were involved in a white elephant exchange at Christmastime with my family. The gift Zoe ended up with was a bunch of different colored fake beards.

She loved it! And she was immediately planning a Beard party. She even asked Aunt Laurel to make beard cookies and a cake. I think we all thought she'd forget about it and this party would never happen. That was not the case. In fact quite the opposite occurred she wouldn't stop talking about her beard party. So we planned a date and got to work thinking about what to do.

The office was used for pictures.  You are seeing a sneak peek of the new color.

Derek found pictures of Disney Princesses with Beards and also Batman with a mustache.

We played a "name that beard/mustache" game. That was pretty fun. Kim won with the most correct with 26 out of 30.

Whats a party without cake and cookies? Laurel did such a great job. Zoe was thrilled.

Everyone pitched in and brought something.

Kim cut out all the fun props for picture taking. She did an excellent job.

As these pictures show this party was a lot of fun. Thank you Zoe for planning such a fun party!

My new job!

As the kids have gotten a little older and need me a little less I have felt like I needed something for myself. Something to keep me busy and my mind engaged. My sister brought up joining her and getting my real estate license. It didn't take long for me decide to do it. November was a very busy month. It was so much work and extremely rewarding to start school and finish my testing and get my license in one months time. I could not have done it without Derek's support and the help of Kim and my mom watching the kids while I was at school all day.

I'm so happy I did it! Its been fun working with my sister and I look forward to this new year.
