Chase turns 6

It's hard to believe that Chase is now 6. Time has seriously flown by.

I feel incredibly blessed to be his mom.  He is the sweetest boy. He genuinely is a kind child. And his smile melts my heart. He loves babies and is very good with them. He amazes me with his Lego creations.  He is a great helper. I love that he makes his bed each morning without being asked. He's pretty shy but seems to make friends easily. He is going into 1st grade next month.

I asked him a few questions:
favorite food: chicken nuggets
favorite color: blue
favorite thing to do: play Lego's
favorite treat: cake & ice cream
favorite special in school: PE
favorite animal: giraffes & penguins
favorite book: Lego books

Happy Birthday Buddy! We love you!

Colorado: part 4

Another bike ride happened the next morning before the bikes had to be returned. This time Derek convinced Maeley into going by allowing her to ride in the bike trailer. She wanted nothing to do with the tagalong.

While on our ride we saw several marmots. This one let use get pretty close.

There was a rock garden along side the bike path.

After the bike ride we went home to get ready because we had decided to go to Vail which was about 20 minutes away. I'm so glad we did. It was so beautiful. Kim joined us for a fun afternoon.

Of course Zoe loved these purple flowers!

Some of the building were so cute! And I could not get enough of all the water! There was a river going through the shopping area. The same for the outlets in Silverthorn. I'd love to live in Colorado some day!

I thought it was funny they started their white water rafting in the middle of the shopping center.

And that poor girl didn't make it 500 feet before she was soaked!

Enjoying our treat from Rock Mountain Chocolate Factory

The firemen had the same idea we had ice cream and treats!

A little while after getting back to the cabin a group of us went for a hike. It first started out hiking up the mountain under the ski lifts. By the way that was a steep hike. Then we found a trail going into the forest on both sides. We chose to go the left and hike. We then saw trail markers that told us we were on the Colorado trail.

It was just so beautiful!

Kari was just holding Lydia, none of us knew we were going on a real hike.

This is when we learned that Maeley loves hiking! She really wanted to keep going.

Colorado: part 3

Wednesday most of the family went on a bike ride. I could not talk Maeley into going and I had to stay back anyways because of work.

Steph and Phil

Chase loved this tagalong. He got to help pedal but had a nice comfy seat.
Something to know about our kids they haven't been too excited about bike riding. Maeley rarely rides the new bike she got for Christmas. Chase and Zoe don't mind their bikes however hardly ever ask to ride them. Parker and Braden (7 & 5) behind Chase and Derek love to ride bikes.

If you look closely you can see Sonya and Lydia in the bike trailers.

Steph refilled the hummingbird feeder and we had some visitors shortly after.

And the day ended  with some that were playing games while others were just hanging out.
