March house updates

March 8th we hit 4 years in our house. That is something we never thought would happen in this house. Its twice as long as the previous record of living in one place. Its been harder than we imagined. I guess we have just become accustomed to moving often.

We finally removed the cornice above the arcadia door and vertical blinds. Having curtains is so much nicer and feels so fresh.

Found these prints and curtains at Home Goods. I love them!

Phoenix Half Marathon 2017

I ran my first half marathon. I've always wanted to be a runner but never thought my body could do that. Back in September I started running again and noticed I was running faster than I did before after months of running but this was after not running in almost a year. At first I was running just to run. Then I started training for a half marathon without knowing if I could do it or would actually sign up. On Thanksgiving I ran a 5K turkey trot and ran the fastest I had ever run. I think I was still on a runner's high and with the black Friday sale the next day signed up for the Phoenix half marathon.

Getting ready to start with some good friends. Menolly on the far right helped me set up a schedule for training. Marlane next to me really helped push me into signing up. Not sure I would have done it without them.

Here is some of my cheering squad. They honestly had the best signs. Other runners were laughing around me.
Thank Laurel for making these awesome signs! And for breakfast after.

I finished!
Everyone told me that for your first half to not set a time. Run just to finish. Well maybe I am an over achiever but I wanted to finish under 2 hours. At the beginning of my training I was far from that time. I trained hard and wasn't really confident going into the race I could do it. But I did! My time was 1:59:07

The others finished about 5 minutes before me. I was thrilled to have been that close behind.

I was on a major runners high that day and the weeks following. This isn't my last race. A Disney run will definitely be happening!

February randoms

Chase and Devan climbing trees at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

Valentine gifts for the kiddos.

Zoe went to her friend Sydney's baptism. Here they are showing off that they have the same necklace.

February Award ceremony and school Fun Run

Love how excited they are to get awards at school.

Maeley was so happy to receive the SNAP award. She loves school and loves to help her teachers.

Maeley and her goo friend Cami.

It makes me happy that they enjoy and school fun run. They each ran over 2 miles.

Pinewood Derby 2017

In January Chase had his second pinewood derby. This year Chase was all about winning and didn't care as much about the looks of the car. Derek did some research and included Chase and really explained why they were doing certain things to the car.

His car is to the left.

It paid off. He won every single race!

He is so happy!

They made a great team getting his car ready.

Christmas 2016

Merry Christmas 2016
Because Christmas was on a Sunday we decided to go to church with my parents. Their church was at 9 so we decided to open presentsafter we got back. We did let the kids open their stockings before we left though.

After church:
We got back into our Christmas jammies!
The kids didn't think it was right to be dressed up opening Christmas presents.

We each got a pair of Toy Story Vans. Best part is they are all the same size! That means when they grow out of them they are all mine!

Another great Christmas. The kids are still into Lego's and American Girl.
